An Exhibition of Works by Roberta Weir
The City Arts Gallery, located at the Solano County Arts Council Headquarters, is proud to present a special exhibition featuring Roberta Weir, a Vallejo-based artist whose work reflects a lifetime immersed in creativity, mentorship, and visual storytelling.
Roberta Weir was an art mentor to Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead, and this exhibition includes a selection of Garcia’s artwork shown alongside her own. Together, the works highlight a rare and meaningful artistic relationship and a shared creative spirit that bridges visual art and music culture.

This thoughtfully curated exhibit offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience the intersection of fine art, mentorship, and cultural history, revealing a lesser-known dimension of Jerry Garcia’s creative life while honoring Roberta Weir’s lasting influence and artistic vision.
The exhibition also acknowledges the broader creative ecosystem surrounding Garcia, including his connection to legendary concert promoter Bill Graham, whose influence extended through many artists and cultural figures. Several local artists in the Vallejo arts community share historical and creative ties to this vibrant era of music and art.
The opening of the exhibition will be during the free Vallejo Artwalk on Friday, February 13, 2026, at City Arts Gallery, 420 Virginia Street, downtown Vallejo.
